Ann Moore, chairman and ceo of Time Inc, will be the keynote speaker on the last day of the 34th FIPP World Magazine Congress in Paris, on 28 May.

Moore, who in 2002 took over at Time Inc – the world’s largest multi-billion pound magazine publisher – is widely regarded as the industry’s most powerful executive and understands better than anyone the changes in climate since the international publishing community last met in Latin America two years ago.

Moore said: “I’m enthusiastically looking forward to attending the FIPP World Magazine Congress in Paris in May. Despite the turmoil throughout the world since the international publishing community met two years ago, the creativity, vibrancy and resiliency that are hallmarks of the publishing business position it well for future growth. This is one of the most exciting periods the magazine industry has ever seen. The 2003 FIPP Congress couldn’t come at a more opportune time.”

The agenda for the Congress is necessarily demanding. As we enter the 21st Century, it is globalisation and the use of digital media that are driving the industry’s innovations. Included among the sector’s most commanding speakers will be a magazine and advertising session by Maurice Levy, chairman & ceo of Publicis Groupe, and Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, vice-president and ceo of Nestlé SA. With globalisation no longer just a buzz-word, Levy and Brabeck-Letmathe examine the possibilities and implications surrounding multinational companies and multination deals.

In total, more than 50 global specialists will be sharing their perceptions and experiences with an international delegation on course to be one of the largest ever seen, estimated at 600 strong.

A full programme of networking opportunities begins with the Magazine Fair & Exhibition and a welcome dinner at the Musée des Arts Forains (Museum of Fairground Attractions) on Monday 26 May.
