Propecia sælger . Fast Facts on Female Hair Loss
(PRWEB) June 17, 2005
Female pattern baldness can begin as early as the late teens to early 20s (in women who have experienced early puberty).
If your mother, grandmother or any aunt has thin hair it is very likely that you have female pattern baldness.
You still may have female pattern baldness even if you cannot find another woman in your family with thinning hair.
25 percent of women begin to experience some degree of hair loss by age 40; and by menopause, the percentage rises to 60.
Studies show that women who experience hair loss have feelings of powerlessness, self-consciousness, dissatisfaction with their appearance, embarrassment, frustration at not being able to style their hair the way they want, and concern that others will notice.
Like male pattern baldness, female pattern hair loss is progressive. If a woman does nothing about her hair loss today, she will have less hair next year.
Female pattern hair loss can happen early on (when you’re in your 20s), although it’s more common in your 40s.
Women who experience hair loss should do something now to slow down its progression.
Dr. Leonard offers three options for women: Rogaine (minoxidil) Topical Solution, Propecia (in certain, specific situations only), and the newest treatment, Luce LDS 100, a European-inspired infrared light therapy that stimulates hair growth in women and men. Dr. Leonard is the very first hair restoration surgeon in the United States to offer the Luce LDS 100.
Tips:
Don’t be afraid to wash your hair. It won’t lead to further hair loss. (Not washing your hair can lead to dandruff, an itchy scalp, and possible trauma from scratching.)
Avoid brushing or teasing your hair, which can lead to some hair loss itself. Comb it instead.
Try a hairstyle that layers your hair; it will help it look fuller.
Get a perm, or color your hair if you wish to give it a fuller appearance. Medically, there’s no reason not to.
Avoid hair weaving or any other device that can put prolonged tension on your hair or cause the hair to fracture.
